My mom wanted to enter her dogs in Walter + Albert’s Hot Dog contest, but I didn’t think that would be fair. These two amazing dogs are rescues. Buddy has the most loveable and outgoing personality of any dog I know. He just sort of always be-bops around with a smile on his face and is always happy. Big Baby is named after Baby, the Rat Terrier my parents had who was run over in front of their house. Big Baby was dropped off around my parent’s house, for weeks she would hang around but not get too close, you would look at her and she would run. It took my mom a few months to just get Big Baby not to run from her. She accepted my mom first, then over the next few months she accepted my sister and me. For the next few years she remained very frightened of any man who came near her. We think that a man must have beaten her, it was really pitiful. Today Big Baby is one of the sweetest dogs you will meet. She and Buddy make a good team, he is outgoing, charming and goofy whereas Big Baby is quiet, shy and just wants to be loved. I wish all dogs could end up with such a happy ending.
